Availability Of Information Sources And Its Usage By Rural Women Related For Home Management And Agricultural Development In Pakistan

Abstract


The aim of the study was to investigate the source of information and its usage in the home and agriculture oriented daily chores. For this purpose, data on 384 farm families were collected. These farm families consisted on husband and wife in district Faisalabad. The data collected subject to the analysis. The results indicate that majority of husband (25.26%) and wife (60.70%) was illiterate and lives in joint family system (70.60%). The major source of information in male was friends (89.58%), neighbor (81.25%) and TV (78.39%), respectively. Whereas, in female neighbors (71.61%) and friends (69.01%). The education level was directly affecting the source of information and their utilization. Therefore, capacity building is needed for rural woman for the proper utilization of information for home management and agriculture development.
