Measuring Efficiencies of Incubation Centers in Taiwan: An Application of Text Mining and Data Envelopment Analysis

To accelerate the growth of enterprises, Taiwanese government has provided relevant guidance through incubation centers. With the incubation centers as a case study, this paper adopts text mining and data envelopment analysis to explore their efficiency. Here are the two achievements: (1) use text mining to analyze unstructured data and extract important information; (2) make an effective analysis of skills and productivity of incubation centers. According to the results, unstructured data had significant influence on the analysis of the efficiency of incubation centers; the reduction of technological efficiency and scale returns resulted in the ineffectiveness of some incubation centers.
